UNP the main opposition of Srilanka agreed to enter into an alliance with other political groups. The new alliance will called as a ‘United national Alliance’ who planning to win next General election and presidential election.
Who will be the next presidential candidate of the new alliance ?
Sarath fonseka or Sarath N Silva ?
However in Srilankan political arena the name of the Sarath Fonseka the former ARMY commander, who took utmost attempt to wipe out LTTE terrorism, is hearing from here and there. The name however not yet officially confirmed. Political leaders such as Wimal Weerawansa and some others issued statements that unofficially confirming that Sarath Fonseka will be the Presidential candidate of new alliance, UNA.

Good move. The military laid down their lives to win the war. It is not about the party or the president but about the people and what’s best for them. The people won the war…the common soldier is our true hero. I am sure they can wipe out corruption, nationalism and this political culture that is immersed with violence. Wiping out terrorism is just the begining. It will not usher in prosperity and justice. That I believe is the real war in a nation where corruption at the highest levels gave room for terrorism and gross national corruption that made us a third world nation.
Yes people will vote for any one who have the ability to wipe out corruption from country and focus on development.
Sarath Fonseka came from well disciplined background, so that he can provide a good leadership to the srilanka.
No matter where he comes from whether UNP or UPFA.
D. S. Senanayaka,S. W. R. D. Bandaranayaka,J. R. Jayawardhana, R. Premadasa and Mahinda Rajapaksa are the only leaders who presided over and ruled our country. Others made a joyful, indulgent and luxurious living for themselves, families and friends. Sorry for innocent Dudly who didn’t do any harm or expropriations. He was kind and not courrputed but he didn’t contribute.
However, I sense some honesty and momentum in General Sarath Fonseka. I rate him as a potential candidate who could make a tangiable contribution to our people. He would not be a courrputed leader. Let’s give him a chance!
