A srilankan news site said that they have received information about a meeting of opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and Chief of Defense staff Gen. Sarath Fonseka. Gen Sarath Fonseka left Srilanka 24 oct. to visit her daughter in USA.
According to the report Ranil met Sarath Fonseka at the Crown Plaza Hotel in the vicinity of the Singapore Airport. Sources not yet revealed the information about what they talk about.
However many can view that this is a political meeting. we published some reports during last period about Sarath Fonseka’s entering in to politics and becoming common candidate of UNA.

Mano Ganeshan the leader of the Democratic Peoples Front will resign from the proposed new alliance (UNA) if they selected General Sarath Fonseka as the common candidate in next presidential polls in srilanka.
The new opposite alliance setup by United National Party, will named as the United National Alliance (UNA). there are few parties already agreed to join with the UNA such as SLFP(M), SLMC, DPF and other parties still considering to join.
However Mono Ganeshan told UNP leader Ranil Wickramasinghe that he will drop from UNA if the General Sarath Fonseka became as the common candidate. Mano Ganeshan further says that Tamil speaking community in srilanka may not accept the Gen. Sarath Fonseka as their Presidential candidate.

UNP the main opposition of Srilanka agreed to enter into an alliance with other political groups. The new alliance will called as a ‘United national Alliance’ who planning to win next General election and presidential election.

However in Srilankan political arena the name of the Sarath Fonseka the former ARMY commander, who took utmost attempt to wipe out LTTE terrorism, is hearing from here and there. The name however not yet officially confirmed. Political leaders such as Wimal Weerawansa and some others issued statements that unofficially confirming that Sarath Fonseka will be the Presidential candidate of new alliance, UNA.
