S.B supports to Mahinda

Today President Mahinda rajapaksha visited kandy to open a new hospital in Galaha for Buddhist monks. After the ceremony mahinda visits to kandy and homage to Sacred tooth relic of Sri Dalada maligawa.

Then President Headed to hanguranketha to visit UNP National Organiser and Opposition leader of Central province S.B. Dissanayake.
Mahinda spent nearly one hour in S.B.’s home with friendly chatting with the gathering. Sources confirmed that S.B dissanayake decided to support Mahinda Rajapaksha at the Presidential polls in next year.

Further S.B. will officially announce his decision to support President mahinda, at a press conference today 7 december, in Colombo. Most expect that S.B will be returned back to SLFP today.

In past few weeks S.B dissanayake openly opposed to the General Sarath Fonseka’s arising as the common candidate of opposition. S.B. said that UNP is not dead to get help from from General Sarath fonseka and UNP has great leaders who can win at next presidential election. Once he said that party also considering about him as the presidential candidate.

But S.B. frustated with the UNP’s decision to support Sarath Fonseka at the next presidential polls. As a consequence S.B decided to jump back to SLFP and support Mahinda.

Ranil meets Sarath fonseka in Singapore

A srilankan news site said that they have received information about a meeting of opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and Chief of Defense staff Gen. Sarath Fonseka. Gen Sarath Fonseka left Srilanka 24 oct. to visit her daughter in USA.

According to the report Ranil met Sarath Fonseka at the Crown Plaza Hotel in the vicinity of the Singapore Airport. Sources not yet revealed the information about what they talk about.

However many can view that this is a political meeting. we published some reports during last period about Sarath Fonseka’s entering in to politics and becoming common candidate of UNA.

A new alliance from Srilanka Opposition

Sri Lanka’s main opposition United National Party (UNP) announced that they decided to form a new opposition alliance comprising more than 15 parties.

Here are major parties include the new alliance:
United national Party
SLFP Mahajana fracture
Muslim Congress
Western People’s Front

UNP general secretary said that more parties awaiting their approval for new Alliance.
